Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Dept

Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Work hours: 7A-7P – PRN I requires a minimum of 1 shift per 6 week schedule .

Department Highlights

  • Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
  • Patients are admitted to the Med surg Tele (36 bed) unit for inpatient and observation surgical, gyn, gastro, ortho, spine, urology, infectious disease and general medicine with remote tele
  • Med/surg Tele Department is known for its positive culture, great preceptors, teamwork, and exceptional customer service!
  • This unit is known for it’s teamwork and collaboration

Here’s What You Need

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
  • CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
  • ACLS within 90 days of hire (required)
  • 1 + years RN experience required
  • Strong Med/surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
